As a society, it is our responsibility to support members from marginalized backgrounds and cultivate a sense of belonging, both within and outside the workplace.
MAINSTREAMING PEOPLE COMING FROM VULNERABLE AND MARGINALISED BACKGROUNDS
About 15% of the world’s population lives with some form of disability, of whom 2-4% experience significant difficulties functioning. As a society we have yet to come up with impactful solutions at scale to mainstream it. By using REKUT as a tool for change, we aim to create a movement where people from marginalized groups are given the opportunities they deserve, in pursuit for social and environmental justice.
By 2025,
we aim to
Create 1000 Jobs
Avoid 1,000,000 Kg in Landfills
Our model is to go back to slow fashion with a purpose
What is pre-consumer textile waste?
What does upcycling mean?
How is that a good thing?
Limited Editions
Why limited editions? By not having to replenish stock or using forecasting tools, we avoid mistakes in inventory planning, generating textile waste, and overproduction. Limited editions embrace slow fashion, better working conditions, and less pressure placed on our workers. Finally, for all items that we upcycle, there is a shortage in material supply, making each piece truly unique, and we want to keep it that way.
THE REKUT IMPACT
We understand that our effort could only provide a limited number of jobs, but we hope our project can inspire other others to act.

A PERSONAL MISSION
As a parent of a Child with special needs I fully understand the true meaning of inclusivity and equal opportunities.
As a race we have found solutions to complex problems yet we have been unsuccessful in developing a vaccine for greed.
We continue to push the boundaries to find life on another planet even before we find a solution for 1 billion (15 percent of our population) of us with some form of disability.
Our mission should also be to find “stars” on our planet and create a safety net for them and their parents who worry more about “what will happen to their child when they pass away” while grappling with the new Yin and Yang - Poverty and Disability.
People with different abilities are no less capable than many of us who are perceived to be able. This my son and our team at REKUT prove to us every day.
Even though the path forward is an uphill battle our moral responsibility is to find solutions to a complex problem. Please join us to make our world a better place.
